Vertical turbine pump for Irish oil terminal

The oil terminal at Bantry Bay, Ireland

Westin Pumps supplied and helped assemble a 30-foot multistage vertical turbine pump at an oil terminal in Bantry Bay, Ireland.

Its purpose is to help maintain pressure for the main fire-fighting pumps. Because of its size, the pump had to be shipped in several boxes which meant it would require assembling at its destination.

The engineering management at the energy company in County Cork asked if we could assist their engineers in putting it together in their workshop.

A plan of action was agreed and one of our engineers travelled to Ireland to help reassemble the pump in accordance with the manufacturer’s documentation.

It went together without any problems and is now ready to be moved into situ and commissioned.
